Advocacy is the cornerstone and pulse point of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women. Our strategic agenda is to provide a culturally competent national voice for African American women and women of color to effectuate positive change for them personally and for their families, their communities and this great country. We understand intimately that the African American woman is centric in her community, her faith, her profession and most importantly her home. Her concerns, needs and voice must be heard to realize civic progress through sustainable public policy. To that end, NCBW West Palm Beach Chapter created NCBW Fights Back!
NCBW Fights Back is an initiative against Violence. When we talk about the safety of our communities, we must look at the entire community and everything that affects our safety. Fighting violence is not just about crime as we read about it in the media. It’s about preventing crime and community awareness about the root causes. These community focus groups will examine our community through several lenses – Law Enforcement, Mental Health, Youth Violence, Domestic Violence and Family Involvement. This holistic overview of the root causes of crime is intended to provide our community with thought provoking information, as well as, a call to action to create a safer Palm Beach County.
